What kind of feeling do you feel when some distant friend texts you?
It is cool actually. Meeting up with old friends from high school brings back good memories. Sometimes, we can never stay touch for a whole 10 months but we usually hang out in the summer. I usually want to go with the flow. Basically expect the unexpected.
36. If you see or hear of a better job ‘out there’ do you want to get it?
This is a very interesting question since it really depends on certain situations. A better job with more pay is always good. A better job can be more relaxing and more convenient. However, what if you worked in a company for 20 years? You probably would know most of the people and have many friends. Your job would also be very easy (on account you do it every day). So, there are always pros and cons.
97. Will your first job have nothing to do with what you studied?
My first job had nothing to do with what I studied on campus. When I got accepted, I was excited that I was going to use skills I gained in the first year of college. However, now I think work is totally unrelated to school. You start doing work that your boss wants you to do. Sometimes this just may be manual input for some computer scientist.
102. Do you think education and employment is about ‘discovering the concealed’…or is it about making new things?
Education is a way to discover new stuff. In class, you learn what other people discovered. When we take a research class, we take all the stuff we learned and apply it to something that has not been discovered. It is quite interesting that your research project may be taught in class one day.
155. Can cell phone make you money? Or do they keep you away from it?
Cell Phones have definitely made me money. My first job acceptance was a telephone interview through a cell phone when I was in star bucks. If it wasn’t for a cell phone, I probably wouldn’t have gotten a job. Not only have me, this piece of technology had increased global production. New companies in the telecom business has stirred the economy for the good.
156. How important are any of these to you: free net initiatives, wireless LAN projects
This, I believe would be the next big thing after cell phones. E-commerce would increase dramatically and benefit the economy greatly. It will increase communication as well as production. It is also not bad to have wireless internet for every street you drive on.
