6 questions...

My Job…

I have been working at American Roadside for almost two years now. It is a relatively new burger place that sells everything from burgers to grill cheese. This was my first “real job,” getting a paycheck every week and working for someone who I didn’t know. Do I like my job? It’s aright, its still work. I haven’t got a raise since last year because they have been having a “pay-freeze.” Many companies have been feeling the effects of the rough economic conditions. Right now, I am just fortunate to have a job…

What makes me get out of my bed, let alone my room…

Every morning I wake up not looking to get out of bed, but I must remember that I have many responsibilities: school, work, etc. It would be nice to have enough money to stay in bed, but after a while even that must get boring. When the alarm rings on my cell phone I wonder where the night has gone. I am definitely not an early morning person, but I would much rather get up early because it makes the day that much longer. I like meeting new people because many times they have similar interests with me. It is important to know a lot of people because the more people you know can only help you in the future. Especially for me being a business major, it is essential for me to know people, the more people I know the better off I am…

I still live with the parents…

Do I still live with my parents? Of course I do!! Now, don’t get me wrong, I probably have it a lot better then most other kids. Every night there is a home-cooked meal, my mom does my laundry, what could be better? My parents are the nicest people in the world. A lot of people can’t wait to move out, but for me, I’m in no rush. Hopefully they don’t start charging me rent anytime soon… Even though I’m almost never home with school, work, and hanging out with friends, it is still nice to come home and sleep in my own comfortable bed every night…

My room defines my lifestyle…

My room is the epitome of every college student’s room or dorm. The first thing I think of when my room comes to mind is my bed. Unfortunately, my bed is almost never made. Why make your bed every morning if no one is going in your room and you have to sleep in it at night? My schoolbooks are scattered throughout the floor along with last night’s t-shirt. I have a very relaxed lifestyle, “stress free”. There are posters displayed on every wall of the NY YANKEES because after all, they are an amazing baseball team. I am a huge fan of the Yankees and I played baseball since I was 4. Looking at my room, you would think I am always on the run, which is 100% true. One of these days Ill start keeping my room clean and organized. But I have to remember, “A messy desk is the sign of a genius,” so we’ll just stick with that…

Carrying a camera all time, I don’t know would you?

To be honest, I almost never have a camera on me. At times though, I wish I did. Much of the time it is an annoyance because I do not own a “point and shoot camera,” so it is often a hassle to carry it around. Taking pictures is a very fun and relaxing activity. I often enjoy taking my camera to baseball games because I am able to catch action shots and at-bats of some of my favorite athletes. I like to take my camera when I know that it will be useful, for example, a vacation. Unfortunately some of the best pictures are taken unexpectedly, a “Kodak moment”…

A better job ‘out there’ do I go for it? Well, it depends…

It is very easy to answer this question with the prototypical motivate, hard-working attitude but is that the way I truly feel? Obviously, if a better opportunity arises you would think it would only benefit you to move on and “go for it”. But, this is the kind of situation I am facing today. I have been employed at my place of business for almost two years now and I know there are many opportunities out there to get a better paying job. One must consider his work environment. Do I like the people I work with? A simple question could help make a decision. I also have to look at my seniority. I am one of the original employees, an advantage that many of my co-workers do not have. If I decide to leave my job I would then go to the bottom of the list of my new job, which means I am the first to go if they decide that they have too many people working for the company. This is why it is important to weigh out all your options before making a quick move…
