College and High School

High School and College share many similarities and very distinct differences. It really depends what your situation is. For the college student who is living away from home in southern California or on the beaches of sunny Florida, college is awesome. But, for everyone else who actually trying to earn a degree and maybe not partying every night of the week, college can be a lot of work at times. Sure, you have weeks that there is very little work and others like midterm week, where you may have 2-3 exams in day. Finals week, forget about it. For the people who commute to college, like myself, college seems a lot like High School, sort of like a continuation without seeing all your friends everyday. It's hard to really be a part of the campus when you commute because your always so busy with going to work and other activities. It would be a lot easier to roll out of bed and walk to class 2 minutes away then physically driving to campus, but for me, I don't mind. At times, I miss High School. I miss hanging out with all the same people everyday. Senior year was amazing, knowing that once June came you were done and ready to move on. One thing college has over High School is the long breaks. I mean where else are you going to have 6 weeks off for Christmas? A month and a half to hang out and not have to worry about finishing a paper at 430 in the morning. Summer seems like it is forever, which is good and bad. Last year, my last day of class was May 8 and I just started last week. That's almost 4 months off!!! By the time August comes around, you forget what it feels like to wake up every morning and drive to school. But you almost want to get back into the routine because during the school year time goes by so fast and soon enough it will be the summer again. So far, I really can't complain about my college experience. I have taken a lot different types of classes that I probably never would have thought of taking and I get a chance to meet new people everyday. I always have the option to go visit people which is pretty cool too!! I know I probably left out a lot of stuff but I could write an entire book about college, lol.
