As all should know by now I love comics. One of my favorites is Green Lantern, I love the character, the story, the art, I love the whole comic as a whole. But what caught my attention was this new path the comic has taken for the last three years now. In the tradition of the seven heavenly virtues and seven deadly sins, in the DC universe (the world in which this comic and its characters exist) there exist seven lights (if you didn't know the source of the green lantern power is a green light which is control by a ring which is limited only by the bearer of the ring). Now a quick summary for those who don't know the story, there exist the Green Lantern Corps, an universal police corps which protects the universe. Eons ago the Guardians (an alien race of little blue people in which only a hand full remains) founded the purest light in the universe (which is a power that is green by the way) and decided to use it to protect the universe. So they created rings which would give its user power and then sent these rings around the universe to find people suitable enough to wield this power (the requirment to wield the ring is to be fearless). Giving people from all around the universe rings these Guardians founded themselves an army. They then split the universe up into about 3000 sections and separted their police corps accordingly. The Green Lantern comic is about the green lantern who protect our section of the universe.
Now with that said, within the comic we find out that there are seven different lights all together (so that means there are also red lanterns, orange lanterns, blue lanterns, etc). Now each light represents a dominant quality that guides all beings with emotions in the universe. So using these lights as the theme of my next seven posts, I thought it would be cool to rant on about each one and how they are present in my life or life in general. I figure I'll start each one off with a quote (each one has there own quote and so I'll just place the suitable quote before each of my posts). So I thought it would only be right to start off with the green light and so.....
