The Violet Lanterns's official name is the Star Sapphire Lanterns and like all the rest, with a nod from the Green Lantern Corps they too have an oath that goes as follows:
For Hearts long lost and full of fright
For those alone in Blackest night
Accept our ring and join our fight
Love conquers all...
with Violet Light!
Unlike the rest of the Lanterns this corps only have females as their members, exactly why, I'm not to sure. But the violet light represents Love and this quality in my opinion is the domiant quality compared to the rest. Just think about it for a second, what would anyone do without love? Love is the reason we get out of bed in the mourning, the very prinicple that guides our lives. We live our lives in the pursuit of happiness, love being part of that pursuit. We are born from love, people live longer for from it, die from lack of it, its what we search for our whole lives. Its' a quality that is compose of many others, which is why its a quailty taht's so broad.
