Pirating music: Stealing or Not?

Some people argue that pirating music is not theft…which by the way is ridiculous.

Pirating is stealing no matter how you spin it. Music is an art form that an artist releases via a record company, expecting to be paid a percentage of the profits made on each purchase. When a person discovers a way to get a hold of this music for free, this is in everyday a theft, an knowingly dishonest action. So, why not just embrace the fact that we are all thieves?

Yes, I'm a pirate. I ADMIT THAT AND I ENJOY STEALING THE ART I LOVE. I know it's bad, but it's just so easy, especially while using Mozilla Firefox. People always complain that they can't get that special song that he/she loves more than any other, because it's IMPOSSIBLE to pirate on campus.

FALSE!!! Programs such as DC++ are readily available for use by any student on the Stony Brook network (as long as you are connected via ethernet.) And like I said before, Mozilla Firefox provides oodles of programs that allow users to rip embedded music off of any web page (except for the all elusive myspace).

I have to get my car going

I'v been building a car for the past couple years and im now in the home stretch. Hopefully the car will be driving and fully operational by this summer. After having a twin turbo motor imported from japan and figuring out wiring schematics for putting a 2jzgte into my 1995 nissan s14 chassis and custom fabricating motor mounts and a shifter extension im excited to see it run. Although few people who read this will ever know what im talking about as far as the lingo goes, the few that do know what im talking about will be very interested even if they dont like japaneese cars.
