locked out.

so today was a great day. Started out learning Chinese; i can now count 1 to 10 in mandarin! Then I made like 10 new friends today! My suitemates and I decided to go to the University Cafe on campus tonight. So we went and I was so excited that when I was switching my bags I forgot my keys in my room and ended up locking myself out! I decided to go out and not wait for the RA to come and get my key, I figured I can leave and come back late at night and call the RA on duty to open it when I was ready to go to my room. Anyways, now its 2AM and the RA is not answering the phone. It is ringing nonstop. So I called another RA and the phone number didn't work. So I called my last resort the other RA. She answered the phone within two rings! and she was so nice and sent someone over within minutes and I am now in my room posting this blog.
Ucafe was alright tonight, there weren't a lot of people, I'm guessing no one knew it was open. But they did have karaoke so my friends and I sang. I met a really good dancer and I decided to record him and use him in my texture video for class.
okay, time for bed!

Future metropolis cont..

The idea of a futuristi city that man has often dreamed of is becoming more and more of a relaity as the days pass. If that picture of an actual city in Dubai isn't enough. The half-baked notions of the Jetsons and all modern sci-fi that so inaccurately missed it's date. Will we arrive at a utopia or a dystopia? we can only wonder. It seems like we were headed for poor house and a downward spiral with our previous administration but it looks like things are looking up. We can hope and as Ghandi said be the change we wish to see in the world. The natural world is awe inspiring whether it me a mountain or a great river but these man made creations dare I say inspire the same feelings.

this is me

This is my first blog ever. I am very excited to post this. I want to start with two words that describe me. I like meeting new people and love hanging out with new and old friends. However I like to speed through my conversations to get to the point without leaving out any detail because I love juicy gossip; plus it just makes the story more interesting. I've been told my stories are Short and Sweet. These are the two words I feel best describe me. Everyone says I am a fast talker and very friendly. I am only 5 feet and I am very approachable and caring. I kind of have this annoying need to please everyone.
Back to my stories, I talk fast because there just isn't enough time in the day! Just like we discussed in class today. TIME. I always thought I was organized with my schedules and post it notes and calendars, but I wished there was more hours in the day to fit more things into my day.
I know once the second week of school comes I am going to have a ton of work and not enough time. Well I'm going out tonight to Ucafe. TIME to enjoy my nights before crunch time! I am really excited to post a video using my new webcam!
