happy 27th!

Coming home on Friday, I surprised my mom. She did not know I was coming home this weekend. So as soon as I got home I took the car and went to the mall. I know that to my mom, it probably seems that's all I do when I come home. But the other day my sisters and I were talking through text messages and reminded me that it was our parents anniversary this weekend. So we were trying to figure out what to do. My older sister, Deanna came up with the idea to make reservations and give them a gift card to a restaurant. I came up with the place, The Melting Pot. Deanna and I have been there and rave wonderful things about it, and the other day my mom was saying she's never been there. So I decided since it's a special occasion and a fancy place, it was perfect. Both our experiences there we received roses, a card and a picture at the table all set up. So when Deanna made the reservation she ordered that it be there, costing us an extra 20$. After all her work, I was in charge of buying the card. I remembered seeing this card in the Hallmark store in the mall over summer, and I said it was perfect for my parents, but I didn't buy it. So now I have to go to the mall and hope they still have it and find it. Luckily I they did have it and I got it. The card was a funny anniversary card, which fits our relationship. My family is always talking about budget and the card said on the front along the lines of, "Mom and Dad- You deserve a trip to Paradise with the sun shining and the warm sand in your toes..." and in the front says "but we're on a budget and this is all we can afford!" and taped inside the card is a little umbrella you put on drinks! haha happy anniversary! It was a funny card and they loved it. The dinner on us part, was just the icing on the cake. They were so shocked when we told them that they had dinner reservations at 645pm that night! My mom was planning to eat with all of us, but we wanted them to get away for the night just the two of them.
Unfortunately, I had to go back to school and did get to help them get ready for their dinner.
But my sister texted me and told me that my mom was so excited to go out that she was dressed up with lipstick on and everything ready to go at 4:45! haha
well... happy 27th anniverary mom and dad!
