Hot or Wet?

That is the decision I have to make today. It is raining so heavily with strong winds here at beautiful Stony Brook and causing water to be blown into my window soaking my bed. I don’t need my bed for the rest of the day but I would rather it not be getting wet. “Just close the window” one might say. Well for those of you who have ever lived on campus or more specifically, in Roosevelt Quad, you cannot survive in a dorm room with the windows closed. It gets hot, stuffy, stagnant, and smelly no matter how many hygienic and housecleaning precautions one might take. This particularly the case in the winter months when heat is violently pumped into the rooms nonstop as if to fuel a sauna. So for now I will choose for my room to bet wet so I can breathe.
