Recently, I came across a... conundrum of sorts.
Women often complain that society expects so much of them. Society imposes upon them the way they should look and feel about their bodies, and that they need to diet and exercise, to maintain this figure or shape that society instructs us to find attractive. In this case, we often hear complaints about how women cannot eat what they want or how much they want to because of what society wants, what the western culture wants.
On the opposite end however, I noticed this: men are forced to eat more. The phrase is coined "eat like a man", not "eat like a woman". Are there times that we eat more than we'd like to? I certainly do. Eating like a man also typically involves rather unhealthy foods. Salad isn't a manly food, nor would salmon be.
Ladies, keep in mind the societal pressures that we face ourselves the next time you complain.
