Underworld

Underworld was a great film and the idea, werewolfs versus vampires although not original was very well executed in the film. The depiction of both vampires and werewolfs worked, as the life styles of the two were complete opposites and the best part was that the two fought. The whole story line was good with the orgins of both coming from the same source. The explaination of the fuel between the two was also satisfying. In some of the reviews i read it was criticized for being too dark but i disagree with this as this gave the film the right feel, especially since the whole film took place at night. The small details such as their weapons were clever and the way in which the vampires ruled (one of three elders rule for a 100 years) was clever. I really loved the character of viktor (the elder awaken) and of course the performances were good. Besides the war between vampires and werewolfs (or Lycans as they are called in the film) the combination of both in one person (who becomes half vampire, half werewolf, but stronger than both) proved to be a good idea and as it was one of those treats I was waiting for throughout the whole film and it didn't disappoint. This was a all around good film and a great first attempt of the vampires versus werewolf film, which I know there will be more that follow.
