Unsuccessful job fairs, but new friends part 2

Now we arrive home and we revise our resumes and print them out on good resume paper, only I forgot to take the paper out of the printer and the next day my mom printed her recipes out on them! oh well.
Now I get a good night sleep, only I had 3-4 hours asleep. I had trouble with my online portfolio. I was just trying to fix it up to good standards.
Now I wake up and get ready to go to the first job fair at 9am at Hofstra University. I get there no problem, I know the way. Then I parked the car and we walk following everyone in suits. We stand on line for a while because we were early, but as we walk towards the end of the line we look at the people in suits and they were all much older than us. Many of these older men and women have been laid off, fired, stay at home mothers, etc. Only like 10% of the job seekers were graduates. Once we got in we take a walk around to see what companies are there and they all stunk!
The only big companies there were Newsday, Verizon, Metlife, and Cablevision. Those companies were only looking for sales people, high exec., and jobs that just didn't interest me. On the other side they had health positions, but were really community aids, disabled coaches, etc. We dropped our resumes off at Newsday and Cablevision, even though they told us to go on their websites and apply. Then we left and went to the other job fair at LI Melville Marriot. It was funny to see everyone start to leave after 30 min of the fair starting. Even more funny we walk into the hotel 30 min early and walk out with everyone 15 min after!
The LI job fair was filled with independent sales and scams so to speak.
However in the time we were waiting online to get into the fair a man behind us started to talk to us. He started off by asking if this was our first time at one of these things? I reply, "no, we actually just got back from one at Hofstra". Then I look at him, who looks like he is older than a graduate, but he responses "yeah, this is my first time." He happens to be a st.johns 98'graduate, who worked with a company for 10 years straight out of college, but his company recently moved down to atlanta, and since summer he has been out of a job. We talked for a while, and then after we got into the room and realized there were no positions fit for us, we left and never saw that guy again. We didn't even exchange names. But if we ever did happen to see each other I wouldn't mind. It would be really funny if he comes to stony brook and i see him at the job fair next wednesday, since we told him about it. or if he and I go to the job fair that day in melville. oh well I just hope he gets a job.
