The Issue of Responsibility

Is our current generation becoming increasingly complacent about life and the work that we do? This past Friday, I went to work at Brick NYC, a restaurant and nightclub rolled in one in downtown New York City. The club was equipped with an combination amp/mixer and 1 speaker. Yes ladies and gentlemen, 1 speaker. I mean, I understand that the space is a small one, but then 1 speaker still isn't a good idea. DJ Nano went and politely asked the manager if they possessed any cables with which to work with, connecting the mixer to the amp. This place not only had only 1 speaker, but it also doesn't have anything more than the power cable and the cables that run between the amp and the speaker. I'd have hoped that a nightclub in the business of... making money be better equipped to do what it needs to. The speaker, because of its loneliness, was driven with reckless abandon, resulting in a good amount of distortion. No, to the average untrained ear, there was no difference, but in my honest opinion, the amount of distortion introduced to the booming music was unacceptable, something that shouldn't have been an issue if the club had an additional speaker.
