Last night the Wang Center was showing a Korean horror film in the theater. It was a story based on a Korean folktale. It was not hard to follow along because there were English subtitles. However there was very little dialogue in the movie. It was a movie that focused on their actions and setting. The soundtrack was kept to a minimum, with Asian instruments creating suspension and scare the audience. The plot was supposedly was the relationship between two daughters a father not very fathering, and a step mother. In most cases you would think a movie with a step mother, that she would be the villain, however this movie twists everything around like the movie "Fight club" and "the Others"... and when they reveal the ending that it is the daughter who is insane and not the step mom it left the audience in complete confusion. I left the theater confused and a little scared. This movie was suppose to be the scariest movie, but it wasn't that scary, maybe there were parts when there was suspense and images, such as flash backs where you would see something like the ring. and the grudge.
anyways if you want to be left in confusion this is the movie for you. It was over all a well written movie.

Paranormal Activity
So on Friday night my sisters boyfriend was over and they were constantly talking about the new "scariest movie of our time" movie, "Paranormal Activity".
I have heard about it but I haven't seen a commercial, preview, or trailer. So I didn't really know what to think of it. Later that night my boyfriend came over and he was exhausted from work, but wanted to go see it. So we made our Friday night into a double date to go see the movie. But before the guys took us girls to see it we had to watch the trailer online to approve that it was a movie we all wanted to see.
We get to the theater and it was packed! we went to the 10:10pm show.
We find seats and watch all the scary movie previews.
Finally it starts and it is a documentary, which interested me because we just made documentary films in class.
There was a lot of moving around with the camera that my sister and I became nauseous. I had to turn my head away every time, and my boyfriend would tell me when the bedroom scene was on, since that was they only time the camera was on the tripod and basically the entire plot of the movie was taken in that scene.
I have to say though, I wasn't that scared. The movie was freaky and spooky. But not horrifying. The audience did scream a couple times but it wasn't everyone; however there were a lot of "omg!", "OHH!!", and cursing in the audience.
At the end of the movie it was kind of predictable... and it didnt scare me. I am proud that I lasted the entire movie, and didn't have to sit in the hall, like my friend did when she saw texas chainsaw.
I look to my boyfriend and he is shaking. I think it spooked him out. But other than that I am glad I saw what the big buzz was about on this movie.. but it really wasn't a big deal like everyone is making it. We probably laughed more than screamed. They made jokes about things and it made you feel less freaked out.
If you are into ghosts and demons and you believe in that stuff it could freak you out. Because the movie is basically about a girl who is being haunted by a demon and he is out to get her. She is a student and lives with her boyfriend. He decides to film every second of their lives to find some paranormal activity to investigate what is going on with his girlfriend. They hear noises, see doors open, floor creaking, feel breathing, etc.
To each its own...Go watch it and check it out for yourself.

Halloween.. the movie
i just came back from a team dinner at my friends house. she cooked pasta and made salad for us which was pretty cool and nice. after we ate, we saw i think the newest version of Halloween. i don't like seeing horror movies cause the images will still be stuck in my head and i'll be so paranoid and scared. the movie had it's scary moments and i jumped a couple of times and everyone laughed at me. when the movie ended, i was still a little scared and hesitate to go to the bathroom cause i thought they would try to scare me. even when my friend dropped me off on campus, i sprinted from the parking lot to my buildingand ran upthe stairs. and i'm sleeping tonight with all my lights on.
