Fake body parts

So today one of my one of the guys who live on my floor came to my room and began to speak about fake body parts. He was talking about some pretty wild stuff about body parts. He was telling me how easy it is to create artificial organs especially how easy it is to create a lung, how he wanted to specialize in creating lungs, how to improve it and keep it runing longer which is all really cool. Then he start talking wild about how he want to replace each of his limbs and organs as he grow older and they begin to fail so that he can extend his life span. He went on to say how he could hook up all these artificial parts to his brain and control them and by the time he is older that technology will be improved if not perfected. He continued to say the only problem would be to perserve the brain which he would accomplish by surrounding it with a special gel. With his brain perserved in this special gel and his body mostly mechanical he would be something like a cyborg. I sat here and just listened to him go on about it because i thought it was interesting, to be honest some of the things he say is possible and those that are not will be possible in the near future. Its' like everyday we are getting closer to artificial beings walking among us, everyday science fiction is becoming less and less fiction.
