I am getting overwhelmed with all this information coming at me. I have been researching and planning for my documentary film project. I called up the University police and asked to set up a meeting for an interview, only problem was I cannot just stop by and request to film. I have to have approval from the Media relations on campus. I called Lauren Sheprow and she asked I email her with my request, so she can send it to the chief and see if this is something he wants to do. I got her approval and she gave me some advice. She suggested that I go to the CPO, Center of Prevention Outreach on campus in the union to talk to them. I went there and talked to Amond about their department and he told me about their training sessions, the red watch band 4 hour trainings. He also told me about the student organizations that are involved with them, such as CHILL, and CHOICE the peer ed program, and provided me with a list of contacts to request more information. I did all that yesterday and today I got emails back all with approvals and great information. I can now attend the fully booked red watch band training session on friday for their alcohol part. I also just made an appointment to meet with the university chief policeman on thursday the 22.
I am very excited for the following 2 weeks!
