I have never been in love. After over forty years, I wish I had the pleasure.

Bjork <3

Bjork is and forever will be my favorite artist. Singer, songwriter, poet, producer, philanthropist…there is no aspect of art that Bjork has not pursued, conquered, and redefined. Born in the late 60s, this Icelandic superstar has been contributing to the indie ether for decades. The Sugarcubes, an Iceland based rock group marked her first mainstream contribution in the late 80s. Fast foreword to 2009, the songstress has released upwards of 20 albums not including greatest hits, various EPs, and a large and abundant handful of remix albums.

It's ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE for me to pick out a favorite song or album from her plethora of material.

manners

Why do boys have no manners ... chivalry is dead and its the saddest thing I've ever seen!
- What happened to the days of knights and chivalry and courting girls and asking her father for permission to even talk to her ... we say that the dating scene has changed that today is more of a internet connected world with online dating and hooking up but i think its sad. There is no face to face interaction and any face to face interaction is one of two polar extremes .. either the guy is socially inept and cant hold a conversation without looking at the floor or he is cocky because he is one of the few guys that can hold a conversation.. which leads him to be an asshole.. cocky and full of himself where he shouldn't be.
- It's sad how guys don't understand where the line is drawn between a guy and a girl .. guys associate girls as their friends and its ridiculous i am all for being one of the guys i love to hang out with them and personally i have way more guy friends than girfriends jst because they are less drama and more funn. But the line is drawn at some extent.. chivalry should be shown.. manners ... common decency .. there is a way to treat a lady and ever girl should stand u p for herself and demand to be treated this way.. blame it on society or blame it one us .. whether the girls for letting it happen or the guys for doing it .. but something needs to change. Girls should be treated as so.. like ladies .. they are something to be cherished and loved and swooned over .. something to chase and aspire to have .. somehing you strive for .. but most of all something you respect.. respect is key .. so for any guys who were wondering girls like to be treated like ladies like they are special .. we know there are a million other girls who want you (its college) we are aware of all the girls that just want to hook up and we know that its easier to go for them .. but sometimes its just nice to feel loved ... like you amount to something because thats what it is to a girl when you court her .. when you fight for her and her attention.. you're showing her through your actions that you care.. that shes worth something to you .. that shes special <3 and in the end everyone just wants to be loved..

friday

Friday is usually go home day for me... I try to stay on campus every weekend. but there are just so many reasons I need to go home.. This weekend my family is going apple picking and I need a haircut.

So after our long night of partying. my best friend drives me home. We got bagels at our local bagel place and talked. Then I went home and did laundry hang out with my mom and little sister did some homework. After dinner I went over to my best friend's house and we watched the movie Love Actually. I've never seen it before.........and everyone loves it. So we watched it.. and It is My New Favorite movie! I'm a sucker for love stories.!

Then I get home and find out I have to wake up early since we are apple picking somewhere upstate!

the sex life of computers: a novel

Friday evening, in a fit of stupidity, I broke my phone. Good job.
Despite God's best intentions to quell my social life, I have been relying on my amazing(!) friends and significant other to organize and keep me up to date on gatherings that otherwise would be texted to my phone. I'm so lucky to have people who care about me and take care of me when my motivation is lacking.

Being phoneless has also made me realize just "hooked into machines" we are. We have wires leading from our pockets to our ears, "crackberries" glued to our hands like an extra digit and cameras in our back pockets. We converse back and forth through an alternate reality and forget about the moment in front of us and the friends beside us. Besides portable computers and palm-pilots, universities and cities are littered with places to plop down and hook into cyberspace. I am currently using a computer, owned by Stony Brook university, and I can't walk a mile without discovering another "sinc site" where I can update this blog.

Phenomena like facebook, once a mildly frivolous "professional tool" is now a far reaching extension of our social lives. If a subject is interesting, make sure to get it on the F-Book by taking a picture, or broadcasting it as your status. In the "about me" section, you can list yourself in a relationship with one option being "It's complicated." Though quite often in conversation I hear "it's complicated," when inquiring about someone's love life, I never ever heard it before facebook became so widely used. It seems to me that facebook has dictated new social norms and redefined what is okay/not okay in the dating world, simply because there is an option other than "In a relationship with _____." What exactly listing myself in an "It's complicated," entails, I'm not sure.

However I have no more time to blog, I have to check facebook. I know that there were pictures of me from this weekend uploaded, and I have to untag the nasties! Who knows what awful, incriminating photographs made their way to my friends' photo "albums" and I don't want my reputation tarnished. Keeping it nice and squeaky clean.

just keeping it real.

I love you

Three words we say too much .. "i love you" it has lost its importance. People say i love you to anyone on the street i do it myself... i recently lost one of my books for class and someone found it and found me on facebook and said they had my book. I was so happy i said "thank you soooo much i love you!" it just came out i was so happy.
So why is it that we can say a complete stranger we love them for finding something we lost but when it comes down to saying i love you to someone in your life we all freeze. .. saying i love you is a huge step in any relationship. Love is unconditional .. no matter what the person does or looks like or acts like you love them .. love is not something to be passed around .. love is your heart and when you say you love someone you are giving them a piece of you .. a piece of your heart. So why is it that we can say it to random people .. but not the people we really do love?
Love like life is complicated .. we feel like we love someone but we never truly know .. how do you know love when its right n front of you? Love can stare you in the face and you can still never know it's there.
How do you know that this love is real? if you've ever been hurt in a relationship then you know that love hurts .. giving out your heart gets harder and harder each time and the wall your build around your heart gets thicker and stronger .. so how do you know when its time to take out that wrecking ball and knock down the wall .. how do you when to give out your heart and when to guard it??
If we live our lives in a shell trying not to get hurt we will never find love .. no risk no gain ..
so you know what i say .. i say "I LOVE YOU!" .. if you feel it and you know it .. then why not take the risk .. love is hard but living alone is harder feeling like a piece of you is missing is harder.. maybe ill get hurt and maybe ill find my true love. but either way im goin out there i'm going to pour my heart into everything i do and I'm going to find that one for me .. i might be bruised and broken bythe time i find him .. but at least ill know i tried .. NO REGRETS <3 Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Play with abandon. Laugh!! Choose with no regret. Appreciate your friends. Continue to learn. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is. ♥ APPRECIATE every second!!
