This was the stage design produced for the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade last year. I can tell you from seeing this in person it was really quite gorgeous. The story behind this design revolves around Serbian history and geography, which tries to replicate onstage the joining of two rivers, the Danube and the Sava, which run through Belgrade. The concept carried over to represent the contest as a whole, which brought together 43 countries from Europe over a two week period. This design made the stage, which was actually quite small, seem much larger and worked extremely well.
