The Naked Run

A few years ago a movie came out called "The Naked Mile". It was definitely not an Oscar contender. The bases for the movie was simple, every year a college had a naked run. Naked runs are not just something that happens in the movies, they happen in real life too. It is a tradition in the all the university of California schools that on the day of the first rain (the rain that kicks off the rainy season) students run around campus totally naked. My freshman year I went to UC Santa Cruz which has probably some of the most dedicated students when it comes to the naked run. On the night of the first rain I witnessed hundreds of students running around the (very large) campus absolutely naked. I have tried to explain this to many people, most of whom don't believe me, but it happened and it happens every year. Maybe we should start one of these at Stony Brook. Few things united a student body more than a good old fashioned naked run.
