Blood Drive

Today was the first time I was approved to donate blood. In the past I was either underweight or too anemic to donate blood...I felt like it was very unfair and I have always wanted to donate blood and was not allowed to because of the requirements...but today I was so happy! I am just above the weight requirement so check for me and then I filled out the paper work to see if I fulfilled the iron levels to donate blood...i am a little anemic because I take after my mother...so usually that was the only problem stopping me from donating blood....one pint of blood saves 5 lives...so i went to get my finger pricked..my left hand was iron deficient but my right hand just passed by 0.1..so the nurse said that i was cleareddd! YESSS! VICTORYYYY! it was a great experience and i have a great fear of needles and it was completely fineee! i didnt faint or anythingg! the girl before me did and was pale white which got me a little worriedd but i was completely stable and healthyy..i havent felt better! the nurses were great tooo! they were funny cause it was my first time and they were joking around with mee and making me worry a lot more than i shold have been but it was awesomee and i would do it again over and overr! yay to my first pint! it feels great that i can help other people with something as small as a transfusion of my bloodd...it feelsss so goood!
