A Visual History of Taiwan

So this comic is going to be quite a bit different from the rest of the comics that we've all posted up on this blog. As I didn't have access to the images of my family, Professor Baldwin suggested that I attempt to piece together a history of Taiwan. As I began to scour the internet for images of Taiwan, I shifted my attention to the most recent calamity to strike the isle of Formosa. Fitting images that I've taken myself and the images that I found online together to fashion a visual storybook of sorts, I realized that a comic book wouldn't really be the correct way that I'd describe this project. Rather, this is very much what I just described: a visual storybook. As I assembled the project in chronological order, I added on at the end what I considered to be the most compelling, all-encompassing story that demonstrates clearly the plight and suffering that the Taiwanese people underwent during the month of August earlier during the summer. Some continue to suffer today. I decided to leave out much of the dialogue because it would only detract from the story that the images tell, and as they say: "a picture's worth a thousand words". I hope you all can appreciate the story told by the images that I present here, as Taiwan's history from antiquity to the modern day, and through this most recent disaster.
