dress codes

I really hate dress codes. I only have one dress mode in life which is comfortable & I don't like it when I'm forced to vary it. I don't understand why I have to wear nice clothes to work when my job consists of being on the floor filing sometimes. I don't understand why some companies feel like they need to create an image for themselves & keep it up. Who is the image for & why does it really matter? The only people I see at my job are the people that work there & I don't think what I wear is really going to determine their perceptions of the company. Oh the pointless rules we create.
